Hurricanes Opens Up a World of Music Discovery for its fans with a Moodagent Premium Subscription

The Hurricanes have announced an exciting and innovative partnership with Moodagent, the newest music-streaming service specialising in interactive playlists and personalised music recommendations based on your mood.

Music fosters social relatedness, making listeners feel connected with the ‘state of their soul’, an impact and relationship philosophers and scientists have spent thousands of years trying to understand.

In sport, music plays a vital role. Research has proven listening to music increases performance by 15%* and stimulates the Amygdala, the section of the brain that processes emotions, the reason we see so many athletes arriving on game-day, rocking wireless headphones listening to their favourite playlists.

Hurricanes Commercial General Manager Chris Yeo is excited about the new partnership.

“We all know the effect a song has on us and the emotional connection we have with it. Music is always pumping during our training and gym sessions from heavy drum and bass through to Adele."

"Our players interact with music throughout their daily routine whether it be raising their heart rates pre-training or chilling out when rehabbing and relaxing and Moodagent's intuitive A.I. curated playlists will create a more personalised listening experience for them."

"We plan to post our playlists on Moodagent via the Hurricanes profile page as well as getting up-close-and-personal with players’ favourite tunes."

Moodagent ANZ GM Tom Mee is also excited about the link between music, sport and the Hurricanes.

“Music, emotion, and sport go hand in hand, and we couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with the Hurricanes. Giving fans exclusive access to the playlists and songs that soundtrack one of Super Rugby’s most dynamic teams as they train, get in the zone, and take to the field."

"Our partnership aims to help fans get to know their favourite players, discover new music whatever the mood, and tap into Moodagent’s personalised music streaming experience with a free extended trial of our service.”

Moodagent is giving all Hurricanes players and management a Moodagent subscription with all Hurricanes Fans receiving a 3-month unlimited streaming trial subscription with access to over 70+ million songs and uniquely personalised playlists – no ads, no limits.
