The move also sees Caniwi Capital owner and executive chairman Troy Bowker become a director on the Hurricanes board.

Hurricanes chairman Brian Roche welcomed Caniwi Captial Partners and Bowker as an owner and investor in the club.

"The Hurricanes are in good shape and this is demonstrated through Troy's commitment and his willingness to continue to help us strengthen our performance," he said.

"Troy brings a great base of business experience and perspective plus a real passion for rugby which will benefit us greatly."

Bowker said he had been a passionate supporter of the Hurricanes for a long time and a great believer in the positive contribution the club made to Wellington and the wider region, both economically and culturally.

"My business in proudly based in Wellington with long-term property assets at its core. Getting involved as a shareholder in the Hurricanes enables me to give back to the city that is so central to Caniwi's continued success."

Bowker was also looking forward to contributing to the board to bring positive outcomes in areas such as property and commercial negotiations.

"Everything I have seen shows me that the Hurricanes environment is inclusive with a positive culture aimed at achieving success, both on and off the field.

"My two boys are mad keen on rugby and they are as excited as I am about our involvement with the Hurricanes. I am very much looking forward to a long and successful association with the club."
