Cardiff Vaega was a promient player at schoolboy level as he represented Kelston Boys' High School for four seasons.
From there he headed to the deep south where he made his debut for Southland while studying in Invercargill.
Some good performances in the NPC saw him selected in the Hurricanes for 2014 when he made one appearance.
