Bio

A player who was earmarked from a young age, Simon Mannix played just one season for the Hurricanes at the start of Super Rugby in 1996. He went on to make five appearances for the Hurricanes that year as he shared the first five-eighth duties with Jamie Cameron. Mannix, whose older brother Tim was also in the first Hurricanes squad, left New Zealand the following year to play in England. He went on to become a successful coach in Europe.
