Have you heard about our state-of-the-art Kubota, Bodacious?

Here’s the story about how Bodacious got his name.

Hurricanes forwards and scrum coach Jamie Mackintosh was fortunate enough to live in Austin Texas, where he learned a lot about rodeo, and the most feared bull of all time -  Bodacious.

In rodeo, riders need to stay on the bull for 8 seconds or they won’t get paid - this has become a philosophy of the forwards, due to scrumming for long periods..

Bodacious doesn’t just have a cool name, it's a serious piece of kit, a state-of-the-art Kubota which is kitted out with a smart screen thanks to Alan Nicholas & NZCIS, helping Jamie and the forwards be innovative and push boundaries.

Jamie Mackintosh said, “Bodacious has increased our scrum performance massively. We’re lucky enough to have a TV Screen on the Kubota where we can use it on multiple different areas around the field. We can move around the field and can live review malls and scrums. It’s become a real tool that we use.

Probably my favourite bit about the Kubota side by side is our number plate we had done up, its around 8 seconds, feared and respected. We’ve also got the Texas Longhorn bull things on there.

The boys enjoy understanding and learning about something new, and they enjoy the energy that Bodacious and the rodeo theme give us.”
