Fans will be entertained from arrival with performers and a DJ in the stadium to ensure the atmosphere is pumping ahead of kick-off. Show your support for your team or favourite player at the game with face-painting and sign-painting experts at the ready.

Make sure to get to the ground with plenty of time to spare - gates open at 2:30pm and box offices will be open from 1:30pm.

Please see Sky Stadium's entry terms & conditions here.

Sky Stadium is located close to Wellington Railway Station as well as the Thorndon Quay Metlink bus station. Make sure to plan your journey in advance and give plenty of time to get to the ground. Click here to view Metlink's Journey Planner.

Buses and trains will be running to a regular Saturday timetable. Additional capacity (services and carriages) will be in place on the Hutt Valley, Kāpiti and Johnsonville lines before and after the game. Additional capacity to buses has been added to key Wellington city routes before and after the game. Travel early to ensure you make it in time. Consider paying with a Snapper card to receive half price off-peak rates.

Hurricanes CEO, Avan Lee, said “Saturday is going to be awesome. We will have a great crowd and an awesome game of rugby against the Chiefs. We encourage fans to get to the Stadium early, with gates opening at 2:30pm. There are plenty of food and beverage options, as well as activities to keep the fans entertained pre-match.”

Metlink group manager Samantha Gain says Metlink is doing its bit to help pack out Sky Stadium by running bigger buses and trains to help rugby fans get to and from the game.

“Kāpiti, Johnsonville and Hutt Valley line trains will run with extra carriages before the game, and we’ve put larger buses on key stadium feeder routes. To get fans home safely, several extra services have also been added to those train lines. We encourage all stadium-goers to tag on and off with their Snapper card to secure half price, off-peak fares, and to travel early to make sure they get into what’s going to be a packed stadium, in time for kick off”.

Sky Stadium Car Parking is Sold Out for this event.

A Traffic Management Plan is in place with road closures before and after the event. There are no Stadium drop offs after 2.30pm unless you have mobility needs. All other drop offs after this time are at Bunny Street or Thorndon Quay.
