Jeff To'omaga-Allen announces move to Wasps

Hurricanes centurion Jeff To'omaga-Allen will join English Premiership club Wasps at the end of the 2019 season.

Just the 15th player, and the second only prop, to make 100 appearances for the Hurricanes, To'omaga-Allen will still be a key member of the pack through the 2019 Investec Super Rugby season.

The 28-year-old has been a 'one club' player since he was selected in the Hurricanes - the first player to be selected in the squad before he had played national provincial championship rugby for Wellington.

The Wellington College old boy, who is a former New Zealand Schools and Under-20 rep, made his debut for the Hurricanes in 2012 against the Stomers.

He made his All Blacks debut against Japan in 2013 and was selected again for the national side in 2017 when he made the end-of-year tour, playing matches against the Barbarians and a France XV.

"Jeff has always been incredibly loyal to the Hurricanes and we know how determined he will be to make sure this season ends the way he wants it to," Hurricanes head coach John Plumtree said.

"We expect Jeff to play a leading role in this campaign before he moves on to the next stage of his career."

Hurricanes chief executive Avan Lee paid tribute to the contribution To'omaga-Allen had made to the club over the past seven seasons.

"Jeff has always been someone who has put the interests of the Hurricanes first and foremost and we know how proud he has been to represent the club over such a long period," he said.

"We will wish him and his family all the best when the time comes."

The Hurricanes will formally acknowledge To'omaga-Allen's career with the club at the end of the Super Rugby season.
