The Hurricanes are back home for Round 12 against the Chiefs at SKY Stadium this Saturday at 7:05PM. It’s Club Round this week and the Hurricanes will be wearing their club socks.
After securing the Captain Shout Cup last week the home side are ready to leave it all on the field and bank more points for the table. The named team this week has a powerful forward pack and an excellent back-line, some of whom have been affected by injury this season.
Brayden Iose will bring up his 50th cap for the Hurricanes, making him the 67th Hurricane to reach that milestone. Iose made his Super Rugby debut (off the bench) against the Chiefs in 2021. Naholo and Punivai are back on the wings and the midfield combo of Proctor and Higgins return to the starting lineup after a successful outing against the Brumbies and powerhouse props Xavier Numia and Pasilio Tosi will look to impact off the bench.
Hurricanes Head Coach Clark Laidlaw said, “Good to be back home. We have had an excellent week back so far connecting with our families and our clubs.
We’re excited for the game this weekend, Chiefs are the top of the table, and we know what sort of challenge that will present. It’ll be a good opportunity to test ourselves this weekend and build a bit of momentum off the back of what we have created over the last few games.
We can’t wait to play at home and hopefully it’s a big crowd to bring the energy to SKY Stadium for Club Round.”
