Hurricanes & NZ Police join forces

The Hurricanes have joined forces with the NZ Police in 2025 for the ‘New Cops’ campaign that aims to support in recruiting 500 new police officers.

Hurricanes CEO, Avan Lee is excited about the new partnership. “Along with the natural synergy between our athletes and the campaign line ‘Make your fitness, make a difference’, the Hurricanes organisation also has close ties to the NZ Police with our Hurricanes Poua team in particular having officers in their ranks. It’s great to be involved in supporting what is a hugely important part of our community”.

NZ Police Marketing and Brand Manager, Jess Bovey, echoed Lee’s thoughts. “Working with the Hurricanes has provided us the opportunity to talk to a new audience. Many of our officer’s play and coach professional sports, and this campaign allows us to shine a light on this unique parallel.”

The campaign with the Hurricanes is now underway with at-ground promotion and activations for all games played at SKY Stadium, and series of video content to be released across various digital channels.
