COMMUNITY PARTNER PROCESS NOW OPEN FOR 2019/2020

The Hurricanes are welcoming applications from organisations interested in joining the club as its official community partners for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

While current partners Wellington City Mission and Eat My Lunch will be invited to submit interest in carrying on their association with the Hurricanes, the club also believed it was important to allow others an opportunity to apply.

The tender process is now open until Friday, July 13.

In order to be considered, organisations must:

  • Have a Hurricanes focus
  • Be aligned to one or more of the following areas: sport, health, youth, education or social inclusion
  • Have a team or an individual, within its operation, to handle the partnership
  • Understand the Hurricanes, our team and our supporters and the values the club presents

Organisations will not be considered if:

  • They do not operate or deliver their services in the Hurricanes catchment area
  • A potential partnership with the Hurricanes would overlap or directly conflict with another sporting organisation

Applications are welcomed and should be sent as a Word document and should include a one page cover letter, together with a proposal answering the following questions:

  • Name of organisation
  • Brief description of the organisation
  • What is the one key event in the next 12 months and what sort of support would the Hurricanes provide?
  • How will the organisation measure the impact of the partnership?
  • How would the organisation make use of Hurricanes player hours during the season?

As a Hurricanes community partner your organisation would benefit with:

  • A launch event to announce the partnership supported by Hurricanes players
  • Digital and social media support
  • Editorial space in an official Hurricanes match day programme
  • Tickets to one Hurricanes match per year
  • Signed Hurricanes merchandise for fundraising initiatives
  • A schedule of rights for the use of the Hurricanes logo on digital platforms and promotional material
  • Opportunity to activate a promotion at one home game
  • Access to player support hours

Applications should be sent to [email protected] no later than 5pm on Friday, July 13 with a clear subject line.

A shortlist of organisations will then be asked to provide a short presentation before two will be selected for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Thank you for your interest.
