'Canes heading for Shannon

Shannon will get its first ever taste of Hurricanes fever when the team descends on the 1500-person town this Friday.

In their first team visit to the Horowhenua town, the 'Canes will hold an open training session at the Shannon Domain, followed by a skills and drills session for all kids wanting to work on their game.

The decision to head to Shannon is part of a wider desire for the 2015 'Canes to get out into the wider community and provinces that make up their proud region. The visit follows those already made to Gisborne and the wider Wellington region, with plenty more visits to other areas lined up for the remainder of the season.

The training session will begin at 2pm, with the skills and drills component set to get underway at 4pm. This is open to all kids, who will be able to register to take part on the day. Following the session, the whole Hurricanes squad will be available to sign autographs, take photos, and have a good old yarn.

We hope to see you out in full force Shannon!!
