Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi

Halfback

Bio

Everyone loves Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi's name, but few people can say it without tripping over a vowel or two on first try.

Hence the Taranaki halfback is affectionately known to all by Triple T, or simply T.

Tahuriorangi is a product of Rotorua Boys' High School where he stood out for his quick pass and acceleration and was selected for the New Zealand Under 17s squad.

In 2014 the Ngati Pikiao decided to make the move to New Plymouth where he joined the Taranaki Rugby Academy and New Plymouth Old Boys club side and it proved to be an inspired move.

The following year Tahuriorangi stamped his mark in the Taranaki Mitre 10 Cup side, was selected for the New Zealand Under 20s, played for the New Zealand Barbarians and secured his first Investec Super Rugby contract with the Hurricanes.
