TJ Perenara
Halfback
Bio
Perenara led the Hurricanes for much of 2017 in the absence of injured captain Dane Coles and was again called on to lead the side on a number of occasions in 2018.
A Hurricanes squad member since 2012 when he made his debut against the Stormers in South Africa, Perenara brought up a special milestone in 2018 when he played his 100th match for the club.
While a knee injury took him out of action for several weeks during the 2018 campaign he worked hard to be back for the back-end of the season when he was again a prominent member of the team.
His ability to score tries, both close to the line and from support play, continues to be a hallmark of his game as he has now crossed for 48 times for the Hurricanes.
