Top semi-final tips

No one's as ecstatic about selling out this home semi-final as we are, but with a sold out stadium, comes a few things you may need to be aware of. Check out the list below for some game-day help, information, and general chat. Go the Canes!

1. TRY AND GET TO THE STADIUM EARLY

We would hate, hate, hate for you to miss any of the rugby action, which could very well happen if you leave your arrival too late. Gates open at 5.30pm, and to cater to those who get there early, we've got entertainment starting in-stadium from 6.30pm with X-Factor favourite Nofo Lameko. There will also be pacific island drummers, face painting, and heaps to see and do on the concourse and plaza to keep you entertained. After all, no one likes to queue up for too long, aye?

2. TRANSPORT TO AND FROM STADIUM

GO Wellington will be running shuttle buses from Courtenay Place to Westpac Stadium, and back again after the match.

Tranz Metro will be operating a regular timetable with extra seating and some additional services on the Johnsonville, Kapiti and Hutt Valley lines after the event to clear the expected crowds. You can purchase a Wellington Event ticket on the service or at any Tranz Metro Ticket Office. Remember to travel early to avoid the crowds!

3. GATES OPEN TIMES

We welcome you with open arms anytime from 5.30pm onwards. As we mentioned earlier, there'll be lots to see and do shortly after that, so grab an early dinner and hang out before the action starts. :)

4. TICKET PICK-UPS

If you're picking up your ticket today, the Box Office will be open from 4.30pm. But, if you're out 'n' about in town, you can also head to the Ticketek outlets at the Michael Fowler Centre and New World Metro at the railway station at any stage today for pick-ups.

4. ROAD CLOSURES

Bunny St will be closed pre and post-match, to aid pedestrian flow to the stadium. Parts of Thorndon Quay and Featherston St will also be closed off post-match only, for the same reasons.

5. GIVEAWAYS

Hurricanes staff will be on-site to give away Canes flags at the gate. There will also be free posters at the Hurricanes tent, where some of the non-23 players will be there to sign your merchandise and paint your face. Get amongst it!
