Hurricanes to celebrate culture with Mana Moana night

Come join the Hurricanes celebrate cultural diversity in rugby next Saturday when we take on the Blues at Sky Stadium.

It’s time we paid homage to the Maori and Pacific communities who have played such an important role in the success of the club since 1996.

In the 2020 Hurricanes squad, 70 percent of our players hail from Maoridom or varying other Pacific cultures.

Mana Moana night will be more than just a game of rugby with a lei giveaway, moko painting, halftime cultural performances and a Maori call to field prior to the match.

Well known MC’s Tofiga Fepulea’i and Nua Finau will also be at the ground on the night and the score updates will look a little different too - with Te Reo and other Pacific languages being incorporated.

This week, fans will also be asked to vote on social media to build an all-time Hurricanes Mana Moana XV.

Tickets to come experience Mana Moana night and watch the Hurricanes take on the Blues can be purchased here
