Hurricanes Hunters squad to take on Blues A named

The Hurricanes Hunters have mixed youth and experience in its squad set to play the Blues A team tomorrow.

The clash at Evans Bay Park will be the first game the Hunters have played since their commanding 57 – 17 win over the Crusaders development team in mid-February.

Jonathan Taumateine will take the role of halfback, with James Marshall getting a start in the firs-five jersey over Aidan Morgan.

Danny Toala has been named at second five with Peter Umaga-Jensen at outside centre and an in-form Chase Tiatia at fullback.

Hunters coach, Darren Larsen, says there’s plenty of firepower.

“Just having those guys in the line-up lifts some of the younger boys at training and on game day. If we can get those line breaks, I’m feeling very confident we can get the job done.”

Up front, Ricky Riccitelli will captain the squad surrounded by  Ben May, Liam Mitchell and Brayden Iose.

Kick-off is at 1pm.

Join the Hurricanes at Sky Stadium for Mana Moana Night on Saturday March 7 to celebrate our Maori and Pacific culture when the Blues come to town. Adults from $23.50 or 1 Adult & 1 Child in the Bluebridge Family Zone just $30.
