Hurricanes and MusclePharm to power through 2015

The Hurricanes and MusclePharm have joined forces in 2015 to ensure the squad get the best products to help them conquer this year's Investec Super Rugby Championship.

The deal with MusclePharm and associated partners, Nutrition Systems and isupps, was cemented last week, much to the excitement of Hurricanes' head trainer David Gray.

"I am confident we now have a partner that can provide supplement support to our strength and conditioning programme, and allow us to move every player's athletic ability to the next level."

Gray said the supplements provided a range of products that met the highest quality control standards in the world, which appealed to the Hurricanes.

"The products are independently tested through the globally recognised Informed Choice programme, and certified as banned substance free. This provides reassurance to the Hurricanes that we are providing players with the best and safest sports supplements available anywhere in the world," he said.

Nutrition Systems director Shane Hunter said it was great to be able to associate an international brand such as MusclePharm, with the Hurricanes and isupps here in New Zealand.

"We're excited about working with the players and doing what we can do to support a successful season for the Hurricanes, but most of all, seeing the results we know our advice and the MusclePharm products can deliver.

"It's the ideal opportunity for us to collaborate and show the rugby and wider community the importance of high quality supplementation and how it can complement the day-to-day grind of being a professional rugby player."

With stores in Wellington, Lower Hutt and Christchurch, isupps director James Gutsell said the company was excited about growing this into long-term partnership.

"We already have a couple of high profile rugby ambassadors so partnering with the Hurricanes is a great way to expand on that and further our involvement in the growth of New Zealand rugby talent.

"The players work and train really hard, so we are committed to delivering the most effective products they need and want to be able to perform at their best while maintaining healthy lifestyles."
