Stu Loe

Prop

Bio

Cousin of 1986-1995 All Black prop Richard Loe, Stu Loe played one season for the Hurricanes in 1999, where he packed down with fellow prop Gordon Slater and hookers Norm Hewitt and Davin Heaps in the front row in five starts out of nine appearances in total. A loosehead prop, all five of Loe’s run-on roles were in succession at the start of the season.

An original Crusader, whom he played 26 times for between 1996-1998, Loe was a Canterbury man through and through, representing the red and blacks on 122 occasions in provincial rugby almost continuously between 1990-1998. This set a new Canterbury record as the most games at prop by a Canterbury player.

Loe played for the West Coast as a Canterbury loan player in his final year of first class rugby in 1999, helping them to qualify first in that year’s third division playoffs.
