While he had a relatively brief stint as a Hurricane, Roger Randle had a long and varied career, most notably with Waikato, the Chiefs, the All Blacks and the New Zealand Sevens team.

Randle played five games for the Hurricanes in 1996 and 1997, but turned out for the Chiefs 59 times between 1998-2003. He is Waikato’s fourth highest try scorer, having crossed the line 50 times for the Mooloo men in his 63 games. 

An electric wing with dizzying pace, Randle played two games against Ireland ‘A’ and Scotland ‘A’ on the All Blacks spring tour of 2001, and also represented New Zealand at five International Sevens Tournaments, including in the Commonwealth Games gold medal team in Kuala Lumpur in 1998. From Hastings, Randle played for the Hawke’s Bay in 1995 and 1996, scoring 17 tries in his first 15 matches for the Magpies, before transferring to Waikato. H was also a New Zealand Colt in 1995, and a New Zealand Maori team member between 1996-2002.

Randle returned to play for Waikato in 2006 following a year playing for French club Bourgoin-Jallieu after the tragic death of his son. In 2007 he headed to Italy for another stint before returning home again.
