It was fitting that Glen Osborne played a season with the Hurricanes. The flamboyant All Blacks fullback and wing of the mid to late 1990s spent most of this career playing for North Harbour and the Chiefs.
But he was originally from Wanganui– a Hurricanes region union – whom he played 20 matches for in 1990-1991 and where he made the New Zealand Colts out of in 1991.
He played the first three years of Super 12 for the Chiefs and the Blues, and one for the Hurricanes, starting six games on the wing. He then left for two seasons in France, returned to North Harbour for the 2001 NPC, then left again to finish his playing days in Japan.
