Open Training in Masterton - Thurs 9 Feb
The Hurricanes head north this week for a pre-season clash with the Crusaders at the Mangatainoka Rugby Football Club. This will be the third year in a row the Hurricanes have visited the Wairarapa and taken part in this pre-season game held in conjunction with major sponsor Tui. The team will spend a couple of days in Masterton prior to the game to engage with local community.
The team can’t wait to get out and about in Masterton to meet the locals.
There will be an open training and signing session at Memorial Park from 4.30pm on Thursday 9th February. The team will train from 4.30-5.30pm and will be around to meet fans and sign autographs afterwards. Last year we had hundreds of locals turn up and we can’t wait to see everyone again. The full squad will be there even Rugby World Cup winning All Blacks Conrad Smtih, Victor Vito and Cory Jane.
We have a show your colours competition for this event too. Come dressed to support the Hurricanes in yellow and black and we will be giving away 5 spot prizes of Hurricanes goodies to the best looking yellow and black fans!
The following day the team are going to make a special visit to local charity group Kids Kai Time. The team will be helping to serve breakfast and packed lunches to kids before school. We are thrilled to be able to help out with this awesome initiative.
