Hurricanes Head to Levin - Thurs 8 Dec
The Hurricanes will be in Levin this Thursday to train and meet the locals. The team will host an open training session at the Levin Domain from 11.30am-1.30pm before getting the chance to meet lots of their fans from the Horowhenua-Kapiti region. The team will stay at the park after training to meet their local fans before returning to Wellington that afternoon.
Horowhenua-Kapiti Chief Executive Officer Corey Kennett was delighted the Hurricanes would be in town. “Our rugby community is very excited to have the opportunity to host the Hurricanes for this training session. The Hurricanes are very popular in Horowhenua Kapiti and we are extremely thankful to the franchise for bringing the squad to Levin.”
There will be a BBQ, the local More FM team and giveaways at the Levin Domain for this special training run with the Hurricanes.
The franchise, which encompasses nine provincial unions, has already confirmed two games in 2012 will be outside of Wellington. The Hurricanes will again host, in conjunction with loyal sponsor Tui, a pre-season match with the Crusaders in Mangatainoka and their round seven match with the Sharks at Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth. This follows matches in Napier and Palmerston North during the 2011 Investec Super Rugby season.
