How much do you know about Hurricanes?

A Hurricane is the name given to a rotating tropical storm with winds of at least 119kms per hour (that’s faster than the New Zealand speed limit for cars!). Hurricanes can also be called Cyclones or Typhoons – what you call them depends on where they settle. For example, in the western pacific ocean, they call them typhoons!

Anyway, call them what you like, Hurricanes (just like our favourite team) are a force to be reckoned with. If they get the right weather conditions, a storm can grow into a Hurricane in anywhere from one day to a few weeks!
