Hurricanes Board of Directors oversees the running of the Hurricanes franchise on behalf of the Hurricanes' nine provincial unions, decides all matters of policy and oversees profit distribution in accordance with a formula based on registered player numbers.
The Wellington Rugby Football Union has a management contract with the Establishment Board and is accountable for the day-to-day running of the Hurricanes franchise including administration, marketing and event management.
The Board comprises nine directors: three independent directors, two from Wellington Rugby; three from Premier Division unions and one from the Heartland Unions.
